Rembrandt, I tend to fall towards Andrew's interpretation on this.
My chart for News Corp below shows 3 moving averages (green, blue, maroon), and an average HVol (average of 10,20,30, and 50) with a scale on the left. This average shows a fair bit of variation, and shows the HVol coming down but off quite a spike. The IVol for News Corp has been floating around 41% +/- 5% for the last 3-4 months (although Andrew's collection of data will hopefully show what I have noticed from eyeballing it).
