Any one curious about yesterday's traded options - highest ever, 3,333,333 (7.24%) - and the exact number that HSBC Custody Nominees (Australia) Limited had at 7 December 2009. May be just a coincidence as there were a couple of other 1,000,000 and 1,333,333 option holders listed as well. If MAE survives, and I am more confident than not, these traded options are cheap (IMO).

At 3rd March 2010 HSBC Custody Nominees had 6,281,712 FPO's/1.61%. Guess it doesn't make much sense for them to sell the free options for small change (IMO) if they still hold all the shares. Looks to me as if they were in @ 15cps and ANZ Nominees took an additional uptake @ 7c. Wonder what convinced them to take part in the capital raisings, along with Citibank and UBS Nominees, et al???
