London Metal Exchange zinc appears to be slowly building base at current levels, supported by declining stocks at LME warehouses, down 4100 tonnes last week, Standard Bank told Dow Jones Newswires.
LME three-month zinc was last quoted at $US3680 per tonne, up $80, with analysts at JP Morgan flagging the metal could possibly hit $3800-4000/t in the second quarter due to zinc being oversold in the first quarter. However this may not carry through, as supply is expected to grow 11% this year
