If you buy the options you need to pay the exercise price when you trade them into the company for a share. Not in the money- you’d paid more to exercise an option than buying a real share atm- best of buying the heads- real shares at present- till the price settles.
Options we’re given to reward share holders in last spp- got an option when buying shares. So they got for free.
