Recent results of clinical tests in Germany comparing traditional biopsy with Pentax/Optiscan endomicroscopy tests on ulcerative colitis patients found that endomicroscopy was 10-times faster, required only 10 per cent of the tests and found four times the number of early-stage cancers.
