This Optus outage will have good news and bad news for Telstra. The good news is revenue should increase. Many people I know on Optus have had to get Sim cards to run their businesses, and may stay on them. The bad news is the scrutiny that all telcos will be under. Overall it is bad for country, but good for Telstra short term. Long term, I am not sure what it will mean. It has certainly highlighted how critical telco infrastructure has become.
