The closing price is the most important element in the price action IMO. It sets the starting point for the following day and gives buyers an edge for the following day if it falls at the close. Every bit helps. It is hard to swallow but retail folks don't have the tools to combat this. The bots will outsmart anyone who tries,, they are too quick and can act right on the bell to counteract any move to support the price. If the SP takes off the bots will find it much more difficult to control the SPCA but right now nobody is jumping in with big buy orders so it is easy for them..

To complicate matters, clipping the share price at the close is one of the symptoms of short selling. Short sellers want to see the price as low as possible for obvious reasons. In the case of AJX there is neglible short selling so the likely candidate/s for clipping the closing price is actually the bot buyers rather than the sellers. I agree that it has been noticable that bots are juggling the price in the SPCA and can control the SP with just a minimum outlay. Each day the AJX SP drops one tick at the close.

We just have to grin and bear it.
