That's the part I don't get - how does short selling make you money? You might sell a truckload of shares, and push the price down ... but then what? You still have to buy them all back to lock in any profit.
It's far riskier than buying a truckload of shares. If the stock lender isn't feeling particularly charitable that day, they can recall the loaned shares and then you are well and truly f'd.
