You cannot make inferences from small and selective samples about an overall population. And of course in small select areas there are pockets of higher grade stuff - these are the outliers in a normal distribution and require careful and detailed analysis before inclusion in any aggregated results because they are typically unrepresentative of the population.

What you observed is what you would (or should) have expected to observe and frankly you don't need to be onsite to 'see' to make inferences; what is required is an understanding of standard deviations and how they apply within JORC guidelines.

You could be blind and in a back office in Russia and have more insight into the orebody at Rocklands vs someone who has no idea about inferential stats and been on a mine tour.
