Do people really believe continuing to pay out the same dividend is the right thing to do? Do they think it is going to continue?
All the commentary I have seen generally about dividends is there is a question mark over some (BHP and the Big 4) being able to maintain their dividend. Would it not be prudent to retain some earnings, pay off debt and not sell assets at what I hope is the bottom of the cycle?
