    "I beg to differ and happy to be labeled a dreamer by you.
    The whole point of this thread should be to at least consider/evolve other ideas/options than our current farming practices today. Im in w.a and there seems to be an abundant of organic farms around. I hope this trend continues and even though they cant all supply all of wa with food they at least provide good healthy food for the people who want it, provide work and education. I cant see how this could be a bad thing.

    Yep, I agree with that. I've nothing against organic farms. I hope they proliferate too. You sound like you have a balanced view on this.

    As long as people realise that organic agriculture could never feed 7 billion people, and so why do so many people critisise current high yield agriculture so much?

    If wealthy westerners want to pay more for organic food, then organic farmers can provide it. And current high yield agriculture can provide 98% of the food for the rest of the world at cheaper prices.
