ctindale "For the record , no you can't ban all of modern methods and yes organics will only have a minority role for a long time to come. Even GMO has its place in the future. No one ever said they dont, your so busy blowing smoke there is zero point in have a conversation. So good luck to you :) and relax if your arguments are so persuasive you dont need all the political nonsense xxxx"
Cool. Why didn't you say that about 2 weeks ago then. I asked you ages ago if you'd be prepared to compromise, and you finally have.
So we need the massive production of todays high yield oil based agriculture, otherwise half the world goes hungry? Even GMO's may have a place since food production has to increase by another 70% in 40 years from the same amount of land? And organic agriculture will continue to have a small role even into the future?
I love organic farming. It mainly occurs in some of the worlds most productive, high rainfall land, and it reduces production from this land. That's good for all farmers.
And no doubt some of todays high yield food producing methods will turn out to be so bad that they will be stopped. And this will reduce food production to the benefit of farmers, and the detriment of consumers.
If we are all in agreement now, there's nothing much left to debate then? It's been a great conversation. Thanks.
