    Hi,

I have held shares in ORG for many many years.

I am entitled to participate in the capital raising.

Before I make a decision of wheter to buy more shares or not, I want to know what are the tax consequences are.

If I do not take up the additional shares, I understand the entitlements will be sold and I will get the proceeds.

I am assuming that I will get approximately what they are worth on the market today, say $2.30.

    My question is this.

Will the $2.30 be gross income I need to declare in the 15-16 fin yr ?

Or is it considered a capital return, that comes off the cost base of the shares I originally bought.

Or is it treated another way ?

I would really appreciate it if someone could shed light on this.

    Thanks.
