At a presentation to the Securities Institute of Australia, Mr Ian Wightwick, managing director of PaperlinX, made the following key points: PaperlinX has A$400-500m available to expand its paper merchanting division throughout North America and Europe. We understand acquisitions in North America are more likely to be bolt-on, while an acquisition in Europe is likely to be more sizeable. In the absence of an acquisition by the end of the year, PaperlinX has stated it will return capital to shareholders.
