Calder - when you have a crossover, the prices are bid to an "average" where bulk shares change hands. After than "cross" you are left with either .004 or .005 average (will or might change as people want to jump the queue to ensure their position being filled.
Now, you sometimes get a bit of jockying where traders want to get the maximum. So the bid and ask can move around so that either party "tricks" the other into getting the pip to go their way.
After the cross is completed, it will eat into the .004 or .005, depending on how this plays out. Then you will have the shares remaining on either side. So what you are seeing, is that we will eat into the .005 with 30 odd million left at .005. That is the figure you are looking at.
In the case of ORO, it pretty much means that at the moment we will open at .005. This can change in a blink and often will seconds before the crossover open.
