Orthocell ATI publications (main two studies)

Just to clarify for some people, Orthocell's ATI treatment has been publicly available in Australia since 2010. The present ongoing ATI rotator-cuff trial is not for regulatory approval (though it will also serve that purpose for new markets) but was rather commissioned by J&J for purposes of investigating a partnership in 2017. The first ATI studies by OCC were commenced back in 2008!

OCC was given licence to manufacture human tissue by the Australian TGA in 2009 for treatment in Australia and they've performed well over 500 procedures since the procedure was launched in 2010. They have been published in numerous journals, but the main two successful and larger studies on ATI so far (for those who enjoy medical jargon):

To summarise:

The AJSM was on tennis elbow. After a mean of 4.5 years, patients achieved (on average);
(VAS) drops in pain scores from 5.7 to 1.2 (out of 10)
Grip strength improvements of 20 to 47 (normal 40 year old men and women range from 35-55 and 20-30 on grip strength)
93% of patients were 'highly satisfied' with the outcome.

The OJSM article was on gluteal tendinopathy. After 12 months patients achieved (on average);
(VAS) pain score drops from 7 to 3 (out of 10)
(Oxford Hip Score) mobility/disability score improvements of 24 to 39 (out of 48)

A few people on HC seemed to think the ATI rotator cuff trials with Johnson and Johnson were for regulatory approval. Whilst they will definitely help for FDA regulatory approval in the US, they were a collaborative study commissioned by J&J (DePuy Synthes Products, Inc) with view to a partnership.
