"innocent children, need I say more.."

Remember my mother telling me not to take sweets from 'dirty old men'. Aged 10.

Parents need to explain more fully. Is all I could think at the time was why would I take sweets from an unwashed, smelly old man and what an odd thing for her to be telling me. Not a clue as to what she was really trying to say.

At that age I was weekly boarding with a single mother in a large country town.

Meanwhile at the adjacent house the daughter was being sexually abused by her father. He was sent to jail for a few months and back before that year was out to live with his wife and abused daughter.

My understanding remained pretty scant, despite what had happened next door.

Thanks to the internet we now know so much more as to how sick these 'rock spiders' really are and the very real risk to all children everywhere.
