As an example look at resmed, one of its listings is on the New York Stock Exchange of which it trades in common stock, currently it is trading at about US$204. It can’t trade common stock on the ASX so it has listed CDI’s at a ratio of 10 CDI’s to 1 common stock. Due to this on the ASX it is currently trading about 10% of that, it is trading on the New York Stock exchange at about AU$25 dollars.
On the ASX people are trading CDI’s not common Stock of RESMED
