PetroChina offer: SPC, Keppel surge

INVESTORS sent the share prices of Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) and Keppel Corp skyrocketing yesterday in the wake of news of the biggest proposed local takeover deal in years.
On Sunday, the world's No. 2 oil company, PetroChina, said it was offering a massive $1.47 billion for Keppel's entire 45.5 per cent stake in SPC.
Keppel's share price jumped as much as 11 per cent to $7.70 and closed at $7.28 with 11.3 million shares traded.
