If you checkout Yammer (by Microsoft and one of the world's leading business apps - in top 20), it's a thread/scheduling app for corp/bus world. But that's all it does. And Hatch which is a multimedia thread app for social world only, and that's all it does. No revenue model (apart from data link most apps). Still the only 2 apps that maybe scratch the surface of what thred offers.
