    Hi Happydaz and co.

Thinking outside the square on the points below - so lets go

    1. Agree that persons may get agro at some stage when waiting - we may end up getting a new catch phrase in our vocab - "Webphone Rage" (hope not). So put more in?

    2. You don't have to sign up and become a member like you do at a library when using a library system. Have you seen the queues to use the PCs at the Melbourne City library located in Flinders Lane! Gotta book over the net! Park a Webphone in that foyer and watch the bun fight (LOL) (depends on the per minute cost though as libraries are free). The backpackers there might relent using the Pcs for free if they are in a hurry.

    3. Yes, it may be used as a quasi babysitter when parent/s want to offload the older terrors. Teenage boys (well some teenage boys ;))don't want to be dragged through Myers and David Jones looking for Abbey or Chloe's new shoes and eye liner. You could park a couple Webphones together, or three or four, in that Basement area of Myers, Melbourne (that teenage section).

    4. Maybe the webphones could become the next Flinders Street clocks meeting place - but at Myers etc. That is, hey, we'll meet at those Web Phones alright!! OK see ya then Kymee- Byeee.

    5. Hey, what about all those major Conference Centres around the country (including major hotels. Can see it on their website advertising now - Yes we do have Webphones available. Passing traffic during conferences will only be sporadic though. But that's like a lot of things where there will cross subsidisation. That is, if the competition is prepared to wear the cost then they will have to too.

    6. Those Queensland theme parks? Hey gotta check facebook again but my phones maxed out! (or been stolen etc etc.) Or maybe dad/mum wants to check his/her RSVP account without the missus/hubby looking over the shoulder ; ) Better be quick though they're not that discreet! Grab one with a screen pointing away from the public - just like at work heh LOL. Don't want the boss to see the Commsec screen again.

    7. Now this is outside the square. If the user cost is really cheap, and the site supervised to some degree, then maybe a group of 4 kids could use a pod of four as an alternative internet cafe? That is, provide hand controllers so the kids could do their war gaming etc. while the mum shops? Maybe install unbreakable lines that connect to unbreakable hand controllers. Well, tougher hand controllers anyway. Gotta be careful though - don't want too many terrors in the one spot spoiling the branding of a business.

    8. Yes, it all depends on marketing, marketing, marketing (for the demand side)and negotiating some prudent financial arrangements for all stakeholders (supply side). PIE aren't that flash with funds (read the 2010 AR - yes it is a dry read, but it does confirm that Telstra will most likely be the master here and will want the journey to continue - so it wont kill the goose with a too tight a deal for PIE?). Does read 'takeover' doesn't it ;)

    9. The local job recruitmant centre should have one? Their waiting areas would be full of passing traffic? And maybe government subsidised?

    10. If Webphones have a webcam attached (some locations may not allow it) then it may assist in uptake/usage in some areas.

    11. We all carry cards around with us now - so one more plastic card to use a Webphone may work out(can be topped up over the net). Or just swipe in the credit/debit card and usage will be automatically billed. This is old technology isn't it.

    12. Stick one in a TAB.. A quick game of poker whilst waiting that 'red light' to flash LOL.

No doubt Telsra had to sign up early so the other operators didn't get first dibs - just in case. But the airports are on Federal land so there was no real choice there - had to be Telstra! If the NBN does get up sooner than expected then costs will drop further and margins should improve yada yada (apologies in stating the obvious).

Maybe someone with strong experience in negotiating these types of telecommunication contracts could drop in and post some info for us. Maybe someone from ACCC? LOL.

Yes, there are a lot of maybes. If there are too many then just park PIE onto a watch list and chase the miners instead. If not, then maybe 'pyramid in' with increasing amounts if it heats up?

    Gotta go.

    Cheers all
