candidates for the trial had also qualified for a DBS so they were already advanced so only slowing or stopping progression would still leave them in pretty bad shape and they would still need a DBS. but could they still qualify for a DBS or any other treatment involving brain surgery after receiving the LCT treatment? that imho is a major issue.

then's there the possibility that it would stop progression in early pd? tough to recruit candidates who don't want to take the risk of brain surgery when there might be a "cure" in the pipeline that would reverse their symptoms so they would accept progression with the hope that the "cure" is out there rather than undergoing the LCT procedure and hoping it stops/slows progression but for how lOng? LCT doesn't work in a vacuum. And some people have been "cured" via fetal neuron transplants at the turn of the century, 1990's-2004(?), autopsies showed those neurons survived a long time. the procedure wasn't 100% effective but some people were "cured", so pd'ers have some hope. and if you look at the pd pipeline there are more trials than ever involving gene therapy and stem cells and even fetal cells.
