Brett Kavanaugh is going for a job interview, not on trial. Whether or not we ever know what happened in 1982 is irrelevant. His reaction to these allegations is important, and any lies or half-lies he tells, as it can tell us whether he's suitable to be a Supreme Court Judge.

In the job interview the tactics he used on Bill Clinton (when part of the Kenneth Starr investigation) have been used on him. He poked into Bill Clinton's sex life to try to get a President impeached. Kavanaugh's sleazy tactics have been used on him here (not by the thoroughly decent woman Christine Blasey Ford, but by the Democrats).

Judicial temperament is important. A judge should show qualities of patience, open-mindedness, courtesy, tact, firmness, understanding, compassion and humility. A judge should be able to deal with people calmly and courteously and should be willing to hear and consider the views of all sides of a case. A good judge needs to be even-tempered, yet firm; open-minded, yet willing and able to reach a decision; confident, yet not self-centered.

The judicial temperament is almost completely absent in Kavanaugh. He has failed his job interview. He is revealed as a partisan Republican hack who hates the Democrats and will do anything to destroy them by his own testimony at his job interview.

Still probably going to get a job for life though.
