These Muslim women share how they celebrate Eid-al Fitr and what it means to them

Eid-al Fitr marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, where many Muslims around the world abstain from food and water during daylight hours.

The word Eid means "feast" or "festival" in Arabic and is one of the most significant events on the Islamic lunar calendar. Eid-al Fitr celebrates the breaking of the fast after Ramadan ends.

Eid means "feast" or "festival". With that knowledge I will be able to sleep at night. We have about 130 different cultures in Australia which must be about the largest human zoo in the world. Why doesn't the ABC devote time and web space to the other cultures. What about a nice ABC puff piece about:

National Freedom Day which is celebrated in South Africa on 27th April and marks the day on which South Africa cast off the colonial yoke.

How 'bout the ABC devote a nice story to inform us about Tag der Deutschen Einheit which is celebrated by Germans on the 3rd of October which is German Unity Day and marks the reunification of Germany. That would leave 128 days which Our ABC could fill its website with tantalising us with fascinating stories about different cultures. We could close our libraries and leave it up to Our ABC to entertain us.

For the record I have zero interest in islam and muslims.
