Front page lead story of todays Australian reports on independent research by Dr Brian Fisher, who served under Hawke, Keating and Howard as chief adviser on climate policy; also was lead author on three reports of the IPCC.

Modelling of both Labor and Coalition energy policies shows that over the next decade:
    - Labors 45% reduction target will cost $472billion wiped from growth, electricity prices up 50% and cost workers up to $9000 A year in lower wages, 336,000 fewer jobs than would otherwise be created

    - under the Coalitions 26% target, the figures are $70 billion lost and 2% hit to wages growth, 78,000 fewer jobs

Story is behind a paywall. Sorry
