Actually a decentralised power network has more resilience.
By spreading the sources of power generation across a wider geographical area, the impact of any single point of failure is reduced.
If one unit/transmission line goes offline, others can pick up the slack, ensuring a continuous supply of power.
I do think we should be putting powerlines underground where practical do to increasing extreme weather and putting more emphasis local area networks - community solar and batteries
