    I think you've got cause and effect confused.

    stocks are generally shorted because punters see adverse conditions ahead favouring price falls, so they bet accordingly. There is sometimes a concerted effort to drag down prices via shorting but that's a lot rarer than posters here imagine - if market conditions for a stock are good then shorters would have to go against fundamentals and they don't like doing that, too risky.

    it's only when stocks are in a precarious situation that shorters take the hammer to them, and VRC has been in the very risky zone for far too long. The graphite market is currently screwed that's the sole reason why VRC is falling off a cliff. And there's nothing sugar-daddy and any of his mates can do about that.
