"How does a 48 year old woman coerce a 21 year old woman to do anything?". ...... thats the important question.

we now have laws protecting domestic partners from being coercively controlled. parents often wield authority over their children for decades after they leave home.... it starts when the child is very young. coercion then is a difficult problem to define. guilt is a prime mover of coercion. religion comes a close second in family dynamics.

"no apparent mechanism with which to enforce that pressure". ..... thats the real difficulty. historical testimony is likely the only way such can be shown. likely from a survivor of coercion.... doesn't help in this case tho.
