If you're going to travel to foreign countries, the onus is on you to respect their laws. They broke Iranians laws and should not have been using a drone without permission/license from the Iranian gov. FYI, flying a drone in the United States also requires a license.
Just because they're Australian it doesn't make them above Iranian laws.
