Sorry, no time to follow events here (am trying to get a business going). I have no intention of accepting any bid from Drummond unless the price is an immediate 20 bag, and I expect a man like him (his record on Bonarparte Diamonds comes to mind) would agonise if he can even up his bid 10%! I've commented in the past (a few years ago on either the MAK or UCL threads here) that Drummond is a master at swapping 3 bagger paper for 10 bagger paper. (He is no good at anything else except that, IMO). His timing of course is brilliant.
I remain angry our MD changed our company name (I will have to do extra work to search on the new name in Farsi? What a nerve the man has got: the extra maths of dividing by thirty something is really the pits) and Jordinson did that scandalous consolidation (he doesn't possess the intellectual wherewithal to defend the old name and to stop the broker laughter at our old pre-consolidation share price?) but I will NOT vote against Jordinson if Drummond and his vile MAK paper is the alternative.
I've been on record here predicting the collapse of the Iranian regime for a good 15 months now I think (from before the Arab Spring?), and I still fail to see how the regime can continue with a basket case economy (60%? devaluation of the rial and high unemployment), and the autocratic imposition of the aspirations of an old man on the youthful majority of the Iranian population (with a little torture help, arbitrary confiscation of assets, arbitrary imprisonment and a few public hangings). I think more than ever with recent developments (the evidence in Bangkok against Iran) that regime change is coming soon to Iran and therefore there is huge value in Mehdiabad. Even if you think it will never be developed in our hands, the payout from an arbitration win is likely to be huge: a case in point on the discrepancy between market valuation and amount claimed was on a UK gold mining company worth about $8m but which is claiming over $400m in an arbitration battle against the Uzbek Govt. (the battle is far from won, but the ratio of claim size to market value is interesting). I say get stuffed Drummond. Your bid is wildly opportunistic, and no I don't want your cash at the bottom of the cycle, and I never ever want paltry 3 bag MAK paper for 10 bag paper. I own over 5m pre consolidation. I don't do division by 30 something. No to Drummond and Mak, and I think Jordinson should progress name changes and consolidations somewhere else since he is so fond of "progressing negotiation" with Iran. Bring back Dr. Reid, even if he costs more. Thanks to Jordinson I expect Mak can claim it is offering a "full price" to the ignorant who don't realise there has been a consolidation. Was it Mak's idea to have a consolidation? I wonder.
