IMO the new Australian flag should be utilitarian. It could be used as a compass, a ruler, it could have various measurement conversions on it including the 32:1 two stroke oil required for a 20L jerry can. It could incorporate origami lines so it could be folded in various useful things... First aid instructions could be a feature with easy tear lines so bandages and slings could be made...
