I agree the Latham factor affected the informal vote though of course to what extent we will never know. Yes - there would have been an element of the informal vote toward both parties but I still maintain that many informal voters would have been disaffected Labor voters who just couldn't stomach voting Labor e.g. Gillard because of what she did to Rudd.
