Stefanov - just to add to the last post, it is clear that GE is not playing in the IoT chip game - given that its main IoT vehicle - Predix - is built on Intel platforms and microprocessors. Why would it do this if it was making its own IoT chips?
GE Partners with Intel to Take Industrial IoT to the Next Level
GE and Intel's ongoing collaboration on an end-to-end industrial Internet platform, GE Predix, is delivering outcomes for a range of vertical industries and catalyzing new GE innovation. Based on the Intel® IoT Platform reference architecture, GE is integrating Intel® processors, Intel® and third-party software, and Predix software to enable better business outcomes, such as reduced downtime and operational efficiencies in virtually any asset. The new solution is being made available to GE's customers as well as third parties who can easily connect their existing infrastructure with Predix-Ready devices.
Recent use cases are demonstrating the benefits of the combined Intel and GE partnership.
By leveraging the Intel IoT Platform reference design and deploying Intel® processors from edge to cloud, Predix developers are able to write their application once and deploy it anywhere, allowing them to spend their time innovating at the application level. Predix customers are able to leverage existing solutions that are scalable, based on Intel's processor line, which ranges from low-power, low-cost to highly compute-intensive and performance-optimized. Deploying Intel®-based Predix solutions can help you accelerate time to insight, driving better business outcomes such as increased operational efficiencies, accelerated time to market, streamlined application portability, and reduced development costs.
- GE Lighting with Intel Inside® enables cities to increase citizen productivity through reduced traffic congestion, improve services such as parking monitoring and metering, reduce and respond to crime, better predict weather, and create new business models.
- GE Energy has created the Digital Wind Farm, which connects GE and non-GE wind farms to the Predix Cloud via an Intel-based Predix-Ready Gateway. The Digital Wind Farm's combination of software-defined turbines with a digital infrastructure is helping customers realize hundreds of millions of dollars of additional value over the life of a typical wind farm.

I have no doubt that GE is a potential client of Xped, but this is more likely through Xped's collabs with Telink and Intel. Not through the 'tech giant' or other MOU.
