I reckon strong open but no real commitment over the long weekend

0909 [Dow Jones] Broad gain expected across equities; futures tip 48 point rise for S&P/ASX 200, last at 4014 points, after Wall Street had biggest rise in 2 years. DJIA jumped 2.1% or 206 points to 10219 points, S&P 500 rose 2.0%, Nasdaq rose 2.5%. Rebound on back of good earnings reports and strong Philly Fed survey of economic activity raising outlook for U.S. growth. Little domestic corporate news scheduled ahead of Anzac Day long weekend; prospect of further 2 days trading in U.S. before local market reopens may keep buyers cautious. (WEL)
