Action and recommendation
• The telcos are in a solid position from a top-down perspective - mobile
markets are rationalising with price increases largely flagged by all three
networks and there is limited earnings risk relative to other industries.
• We prefer Telstra (rated Outperform) over TPG (rated Neutral) given a
healthier balance sheet and the optionality to realise value through fibre
monetization.
