I notice the article is high on emotion but entirely devoid of a practical solution that would be acceptable to the author.
I've got some policy suggestions which could prevent these drownings but I suspect the author would disagree with every practical and viable alternative.
That is the perversity of this situation - it is the "compassionate" open borders which is luring these migrants (not refugees) to make the dangerous journey. Europe has made a conscious decision to enable these deaths but in the name of "compassion" the are unable to correct their error.
