and I have to admit, that is a possibility. many service providers have been scamming the system throughout the LNP years as the LNP had put in place methods of payment which avoided human scrutiny of payments. they're paid automatically. so service providers were allowed/enabled to charge as much as they thought they might get away with.

Shorten, for all his faults and ***kups has been negotiating with the NDIA board to restrict payments, ensure human scrutiny and demand justification of invoices. legislation is due to be passed this sitting period. if it succeeds, and this is in doubt as the Libs don't like their legislation altered ("My Legacy" cries Abbott). the Libs will argue against the changes from my reading.

yes $7000 is a lot for a weekend (2 nights). but we don't know the fractions of the cost.
