It’s far more complicated then just drilling a well and hooking it up. Exploration wells aren’t necessarily drilled as production wells, there will need to be a platform, subsea pipelines and not to mention a flow test to determine productivity of the reservoir. All up it’s usually a 5 year wait till production and obviously a few appraisals. Also note any development would need to be determined if it’s destined for domestic gas or back fill for an LNG venture.
