IMO Unless mandated by the FDA, the existing valves, supplied by the Majors, will still be used in operations to repair / replace, until such time the Surgeons relationships and or contracts expire.
I don’t believe the majors will give up market share that easy, which is why relationships have to be established as soon as possible with the surgeons, currently committed or contracted to use the competition. I feel not enough (relationship building) has occurred to date, to disturb the great universe of valve supply, which is why the competition hasn’t made any serious offers of a takeover.
Anteris must have sales staff in their employ, and I strongly urge them to disturb the (fabric of the valve supply universe) and force our competition to listen to their clients and either Merge, Takeover or Fold. Start thinking like a chess player.
