"I just think we're going to have a really choppy year," said Market Matters principal and Shaw Stockbroking investment adviser Shawn Hickman. "I thought it was a screaming buy two weeks ago, and I now think the market is getting ready for a good sell-off. I don't think it's quite there yet, but all I've done today is sell."
Mr. Hickman said he sold his entire trading position in Fortescue Metals and Silver Lake Resources on Tuesday.
As the most heavily shorted stock in the S&P/ASX 200, Fortescue could jump further if its results excel, but after rising 14% in four weeks, the iron-ore miner could plunge if its results merely meet expectations
