    @moorookamick, I think you are giving too much credit to strategy or reasoning. This vaccine roll-out is looking more and more like a complete debacle every day and we are have gone from being "at the front of the queue" to the back of the queue in the space of about four months. Failure at the highest levels to manage the project, diversify sources and respond quickly to bad news, seems at the core of the problem. Our government seemed (and still seems) to be more interested in managing political perceptions and ensuring that the "right" people make money out of the roll-out, than they do about any health or economic outcome for the country.

    If we don't get large-scale community transmission and consequent lock-downs over winter we may still come through this OK, but that is a fairly high-risk path to rely on.

    I'm truly unsure as to how they can possibly manage this well from here.
