Haha..Welcome to the world of economics emo. We are all in the investing game to make money and predicting boom and busts is the name of the game. Bulls and bears. As a serious investor yourself, and congratulations and good luck, I recommend not reading this thread because it's filled with doomsayers who will tell you you're going to lose all your money. I have money in property too and feel pretty relaxed and confident I won't lose it, but I enjoy reading all of the opinions on this thread and in the end I make up my own mind up from what is happening in reality, i.e, how much I owe, what my bank charges me, and what income I get from the property. Simple really.
Also it's good to hear your story about backpackers wanting to live in Perth. I think this city is one of the best in the world at the moment to live in,easy to get work whenever you want and as a result wages are high. Sure it's a bit expensive at times but most of these are just luxuries that can be easily forgone, for example do i buy the boat or the kite surfing kit? Do I buy a pint for $10 or a carton for $40. Despite the doom and gloom the reality is we are doing very well.
