Correct, people often confuse a slowdown in growth rates with an actual decrease in population. Even if fertility rates continue to decline (though there's little sign of that in Africa) the global population will still be growing for many decades to come.

The population growth in Nigeria alone will offset any population reduction in the whole of Europe and East Asia (ex China).
