everything is relative
more people is possible but - more pollution - lower standard of living .....we do have an impact on the planet

fertility rates are declining in western countries but huge increases in population in poorer countries
can't be sustained
hence boat people etc

our species is way out of balance in our ecosystem which is not coping well with that pressure
