    OUTSTANDING HIGH-GRADE COPPER-GOLD
    INTERSECTION FROM DEFLECTOR DEEP DRILLING
    6 October 2005
    • Outstanding intersection of 9.00m @ 65.2g/t Au and 3.95% Cu from deep
drilling resource extension programme at Deflector Deposit.
    • Additional high-grade copper and gold intercepts returned from the West
    and Central Lodes:
    - 2.00m @ 7.30 g/t Au and 0.54% Cu
    - 2.88m @ 11.8 g/t Au and 0.38% Cu
    - 2.10m @ 7.11 g/t Au
    • Deep drilling program now complete with sample assaying of the
remaining 8 holes expected to be completed by the end of October 2005.
    • New results to be incorporated in updated Deflector resource model.
Batavia Mining Limited (ASX: BTV) today announced significant results from the current deep
drilling programme at the main Deflector Deposit at its wholly-owned Gullewa Project in
Western Australia, with the drilling returning further high grade gold and copper intercepts
within the West and Central lodes.
The Company commenced the deep drilling program at the Deflector Deposit in mid July, with
the objective of increasing the current resource of 323,000 Au Eq ounces below its current
depth of 210 metres (where 1% Cu is equivalent to 2.0 g/t Au). The program involves a total
of 16 deep holes (RC precollars with diamond tails) to test extensions to the West and Central
lodes to a vertical depth of 400 metres.
Significant further assay results are summarised below:

The latest results build further on the significant initial results from the deep drilling
programme announced to the market on 13 September, which included intersections of 4.9m
    @ 19.2g/t Au and 0.94% Cu, 2.2m @ 30.2g/t Au and 5.96% Cu, 3.6m @ 6.11g/t Au and 1.5m
    @ 11.9g/t Au.
The Company believes the results are significant as the deeper drilling demonstrates that the
    Deflector resource continues at depth.
The drilling program was completed at the end of September, with core cutting nearing
completion. Sample assaying of the remaining 8 deep holes is expected to be completed by
    the end of October.
Upon completion of the assaying, the Deflector Deposit resource model will be updated.
A drill hole location plan for the holes assayed to date is attached.
