A lot of tradies have gone to the mines for big money leaving fewer in the cities, so they can charge more.
Doesn't make it right but that's the truth of it.
unclerik is also correct. My dad's a fridgy and probably on about $65K - $70K but his employer will charge him out at a huge rate.
