"The soon they realise that their earnings are capped the better."

Nothing is capped anywhere, Just about anybody gets what used to be called Cost of Living increases.

In the same way Qantas gets away with increases in ticket prices due to higher fuel costs, higher landing fees and staff costs from time to time.

Workers just about everywhere get annual wage increases according to the agreements they negotiated. This is called Enterprise Bargain system and it served Australia quite well.
Qantas is quite happily paying at least 3% a year, every year, increases to most of its wage and salary earners, a lot higher increases to middle and higher management who are on contracts and have KPI's which means they are required to reduce costs in their sections, come what may.

This cafofle is not about money and how much a baggage handler gets is immaterial to this fight.

Joyce and Clifford are throwing away 20 million a day to crash 3 remaining unions who dared to ask for reasonable conditions for their members, some highly educated, some highly skilled and some semi-skilled.
