I'm not convinced companies should have been compensated for shutdowns. If anything I think those who had a solid business should have been rewarded for keeping their workforce going productively.
I didn't claim any job keeper for my people, the reason being we have operated as a distributed intelligence model since the internet became available commercially. We embraced new tech and still do, steering away away from archaic hierarchical business models that are highly inflexible and susceptible to "me too" competitors and downturns.
IMO there are way too many small businesses and that denies the critical mass of larger companies that have the capacity to innovate and develop, even manufacture stuff for a change..
