There is no greater problem for planet Earth, in every concievable nook and cranny you look at , whichever way you look at it , than overpopulation.
You have to feel great empathy for for the illegals, ( any man worth his salt born into poverty would do his utmost to do better for his family, including taking a very risky voyage to a 'better ' place to earn more to send home ) and , at the same time , complete detaching oneself from emotion , and seeing the whole problem rationally , you can only conclude that it's overpopulation that is driving so many to escape sheer poverty.
Unless and until western aid is first and foremost about birth control as the primary means of aid, then.......soon the seas will have no fish, desertification will contnue it's relentless path and the west will be swamped by the desperate.
China , intelligent enough, at a breaking point , adopted it's one-child policy. Imagine China today if that wasn't the case.
There is no problem on the planet that isn't solved by less people. Thos with quaint religious views ,etc , need to get out of their comfort zone and visit the real world...i.e. where most of homo sapiens live.It's an ugly view and getting horribly worse by the day.
