I agree that to try and get a feel for NST from the total buyer/seller numbers is unrealistic.

A simple, and I believe, a more insightful analysis of buyer/seller information (if you want to use that) is to look at the sum of the top say 5 or 10 levels of buyers and sellers, and at the sum of the corresponding volumes as well.

If we do that for NST (either top 5 order levels OR top 10 order levels) then the numbers are very similar whether we look at buyer numbers vs seller numbers OR buyer order volumes vs seller order volumes.

If you don't want to look at charting, or gaps, or shorting, or TA, or FA, or bollinger bands or moving averages or whatever.........
then the above approach can give an indication of market sentiment - mind you, it is only an indicator, just like most other methods of analysis - only indicators.
